Premier, Inc. is a strategic healthcare alliance entirely owned by 197 not-for-profit hospitals and healthcare systems. Norton Healthcare, the largest decentralized health care system in Kentucky, is a Premier shareholder.

Premier shareholders own, lease, or manage 1,394 other hospitals. Premier members also include 28,151 Alternate Sites (imaging centers, surgery centers, home health agencies, DMEs, wound care centers, physical therapy clinics), 21,259 physician offices, and 6.620 long-term care facilities.

In 2007, Premier Members purchased over $31 Billion, one third of the acute care market. Premier is the nation’s second largest healthcare purchasing program commanding deep contract discounts and offering unique competitive advantages which link quality with financial performance.
